Kimberly shuts out Appleton East softball

KIMBERLY – Kimberly scored five times in the first inning and went on to defeat Appleton East 10-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Tuesday at Sunset Park.

Isabella Ellestad struck out six in three innings and Sophie Streich had four strikeouts in two innings to combine for the shutout for Kimberly, which improves to 2-0 overall and in the FVA.

Appleton East (1-1 overall and FVA) was held to just three hits, which included a double by Ava Smarzinski.

Sophie Hermus had a home run and Sophie Girard scored three times for Kimberly.

Appleton East hosts Oshkosh North on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
