Kimberly pounces on Appleton East early, cruises to FVA football win

APPLETON – Kimberly piled on six first-half touchdowns and cruised to a 42-14 win over Appleton East in Fox Valley Association football action Friday night at Pickett Field at Appleton East High School.
Braedon Ellefson tossed two touchdown passes to Carter Howard, and Kegan Pleau ran for three scores as the Papermakers (4-0, 3-0 FVA) rolled out to a 42-0 lead by halftime. Pleau finished with 104 yards rushing.
Appleton East (2-3, 0-3 FVA) managed a pair of touchdowns in the second half under a running clock situation as Alex Thompson and Kyreese White had rushing scores.
Thompson ended up with 82 yards rushing to pace the Patriots’ offense.
Appleton East will travel to Fond du Lac for another FVA game next Friday, Sept. 27. Kimberly, which is tied for first place in the conference with Kaukauna and Appleton North at 3-0, will host Hortonville.
