Kimberly outlasts Appleton East boys basketball in regular-season finale

APPLETON – Kimberly buckled down defensively in the second half to pull away and defeat Appleton East 75-60 in the regular-season finale for both teams on Thursday at Appleton East High School.

Kimberly led 42-38 at halftime before outscoring East by 11 in the second half, holding the Patriots to 22 points, to finish off the victory.

Landen Van Offeren scored 23 points for Kimberly (10-13, 8-10 FVA).

DaKing Clemons had 16 points and Mason O’Reilly had 12 for East, which wraps up the regular season with a 6-18 record and a 4-14 mark in the FVA.

Appleton East will host Chippewa Falls for a WIAA Division 1 regional quarterfinal on Tuesday. The winner plays at Marshfield on March 7.
