APPLETON – The Appleton North baseball team won its third game in a row, downing D.C. Everest 8-1 in a nonconference matchup Friday at North High School.
Jack Kangas tossed a complete-game five-hitter for Appleton North, finishing with two strikeouts and two walks.
D.C. Everest (4-3) scored in the first inning on an RBI double by Jake Vercimak, but that would be all it would get against Kangas.
North (5-2) responded with runs in the first, second and fourth innings, then blew it open with a five-run fifth.
Alex Ramus went 4-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI, and Nick Bergin added two hits and scored twice for Appleton North.
Appleton North hosts Fond du Lac on Monday at 4:30 p.m.
