Hortonville sends Appleton East boys basketball to seventh-straight loss

APPLETON – Four Hortonville players scored in double figures as the Polar Bears downed Appleton East 67-58 in a Fox Valley Association boys basketball game Friday at Appleton East High School.

The Polar Bears limited East to 22 points in the first half, taking a seven-point lead, and held on from there to improve to 6-2 overall and 3-2 in the FVA.

Aiden Rogers scored 18 points and Aiden Sweeney had 14 for Hortonville.

Cade Prestigiacomo finished with a game-high 21 points for Appleton East, which falls to 3-7 overall and 1-4 in the FVA after suffering its seventh-straight loss.

Brayden Nieman added 14 points for the Patriots.

Appleton East will play at Appleton West on Tuesday as part of a girls-boys doubleheader. The girls game begins at 6 p.m., with the boys to follow at approximately 7:45 p.m.
