Hopkins/St. Louis Park surges past Fox Cities Stars girls hockey

HOPKINS, Minn. – Hopkins/St. Louis Park scored three times in a 3-½ minute stretch to break open a tie game and defeat the Fox Cities Stars 5-3 in a nonconference girls hockey game as the Stars completed a two-day trip to Minnesota on Saturday.
Margaret Thomas scored in the first period and Evie Mursau added a goal with 6:58 remaining in the game to tie it at 2-2 for the Stars.
Hopkins responded with three-straight goals to take control.
Maleiyah Streck scored with 10 seconds remaining for the Stars’ final goal.
The Stars (3-5) host the Cap City Cougars on Friday at Tri-County Ice Arena in Neenah. Game time is 7 p.m.
