Freedom shuts out Fox Valley Lutheran softball

APPLETON – Freedom’s Peyton VanderLoo held Fox Valley Lutheran to just one hit and earned a 2-0 shutout in a North Eastern Conference softball game Tuesday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

The Irish (11-3, 11-1 NEC) scored both of their runs in the top of the second inning and VandeLoo did the rest, giving up just a double to Natalie Bromm and only one walk while striking out nine.

Madison Babcock was the hard-luck losing pitcher for FVL (10-5, 6-5 NEC), finishing with 10 strikeouts and no walks while giving up five hits.

Fox Valley Lutheran will travel to Marinette for another conference game Thursday.
