Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball wins bracket at Beast of the Northeast Tournament

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team won its bracket championship at the Beast of the Northeast Girls Volleyball Tournament at the Champion Center on Saturday.

The Foxes finished 6-1 overall at the two-day tournament, hosted by Green Bay Notre Dame, after winning three of four matches on Saturday.

Fox Valley Lutheran defeated New Berlin West 2-0 and lost to Holmen 2-1 to advance to the final GOLD 2 bracket, where it beat Freedom and Luxemburg-Casco 2-0 to take the title.

Annalise Patchett finished with 31 kills and 29 digs, Ava Patchett had 43 assists and 18 digs, and Riley Schmitz had 74 assists to lead the way for FVL.

Emma Nilson added 27 kills, six digs and 10 blocks, Sophie Wunderlich chipped in 14 kills and eight digs, and Molly Bixby had 42 assists and seven digs as well for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran hosts Xavier for a nonconference game Wednesday.
