Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball wins all five matches to take first at Lutheran Invitational Tournament

MILWAUKEE – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team dominated play at the Lutheran Invitational Tournament on Saturday at Wisconsin Lutheran College, winning all five of its matches to take the title.

In pool play, the Foxes defeated Illinois Lutheran 25-22, 25-8; Watertown Luther Prep 25-17, 25-13; and Winnebago Lutheran Academy 23-25, 25-9, 15-8.

Fox Valley Lutheran went on to defeat Illinois Lutheran again in the semifinals 25-12, 25-7, and Winnebago Lutheran in the championship match 25-16, 25-22.

Emma Nilson hit at an impressive 0.571 percentage and finished with 56 kills, while adding 20 digs and seven blocks for the Foxes (28-6 overall).

Molly Bixby had 62 assists, 20 digs and five service aces, Greta Nolte had 20 kills and 39 digs, Riley Schmitz had a team-high 102 digs, and Ava Patchett had 54 assists and 25 digs in FVL’s five wins. Brianna Stewart finished with 19 kills and Sophia Wunderlich contributed 17 as well for the Foxes.

Fox Valley Lutheran returns to North Eastern Conference action Tuesday at Oconto Falls.
