Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball places third at Kettle Moraine Laser Invitational

WALES – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team continued its strong early-season surge by going 5-1 and finishing in third place at the two-day Kettle Moraine Laser Invitational on Friday and Saturday at Kettle Moraine High School.
In pool play on Friday, the Foxes defeated Hortonville 25-16, 24-26, 17-15, and Racine Lutheran 25-13, 25-12. On Saturday, FVL beat Wauwatosa East 25-23, 25-23, 25-19, to advance to the Gold Bracket.
Fox Valley Lutheran defeated Middleton 25-20, 25-22, before losing to Brookfield Central 25-21, 25-23, to finish third.
Sophia Wunderlich had 34 kills, Hannah Uhlenbrauck added 29, and Alaina Patchett had 26 kills and six blocks for the Foxes in their six matches.
Ava Patchett had a team-high 59 assists, 34 digs and seven service aces, Molly Bixby added 58 assists and 23 digs, and libero Riley Schmitz led the defense again with 50 digs, while also chipping in 10 assists and nine service aces.
Fox Valley Lutheran’s next match is Tuesday at Little Chute.
