Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball outlasts Freedom in battle of undefeated North Eastern Conference foes

FREEDOM – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team’s quest for a North Eastern Conference championship took a big upswing on Thursday night as the Foxes outlasted Freedom 3-2 in a battle of undefeated squads at Freedom High School.

The Foxes won a tight match 15-25, 25-17, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12, to improve to 5-0 in the North Eastern Conference, while dropping Freedom to 5-1.

Alaina Patchett had 13 kills, Hannah Uhlenbrauck and Sophia Wunderlich each had 12 kills, Molly Bixby finished with 30 assists, and Riley Schmitz led the defense as usual with 40 digs, while also contributing four service aces for Fox Valley Lutheran.

Ellie Hayes added 10 kills, and Ava Patchett had 24 assists and 12 digs as well for the Foxes.

FVL will compete at a tournament at Wisconsin Lutheran College in Milwaukee on Saturday.
