Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball holds off pesky Oconto Falls

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team nearly surrendered a 2-0 lead before winning a tiebreaking set and defeating Oconto Falls 3-2 in a tight North Eastern Conference match Tuesday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The Foxes won the first two sets 25-22, 25-22, before Oconto Falls knotted up the match with wins of 26-24 and 17-15. In the fifth and deciding set, FVL prevailed 15-10 to stay undefeated in the NEC at 6-0.
Sophia Wunderlich had 14 kills and six digs, Kenzie Loberger had a team-high 14 digs, and Ava Patchett had a whopping 13 service aces while also dishing out 17 assists in the win for the Foxes.
Molly Bixby led FVL with 22 assists and also had seven digs, and Hannah Uhlenbrauck added 10 kills for FVL.
Fox Valley Lutheran will host Luxemburg-Casco on Thursday at 7 p.m.
