Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball goes 4-2 at two-day Beast of the Northeast tournament

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball team finished second in its bracket with a 4-2 overall record at the Beast of the Northeast tournament on Friday and Saturday at the Champions Center.

In pool play Friday, the Foxes defeated Sheboygan Falls 25-14, 25-17, and Pulaski 25-14, 25-23, before suffering a 20-25, 29-27, 15-9 loss to West Salem.

In Challenger Bracket play on Saturday, FVL defeated New Berlin West 25-22, 25-20, and Green Bay Notre Dame 25-7, 25-23, to reach the championship game of Gold Bracket 1, but lost to Luxemburg-Casco 25-19, 25-16.

Setters Molly Bixby (57) and Ava Patchett (43) combined for 100 assists in the Foxes’ six matches. Riley Schmitz had 89 digs, Hannah Uhlenbrauck had a team-best 26 kills, Greta Note added 20 kills, and Sophia Wunderlich had 19 kills for FVL.

Fox Valley Lutheran will open North Eastern Conference play at home against Denmark on Thursday at 7 p.m.
