Fox Valley Lutheran girls volleyball finishes second at The BlocK Tournament at Kettle Moraine, Brookfield Central

WALES – Fox Valley Lutheran finished second in the gold bracket at the 30-team The BlocK Girls Volleyball Tournament on Friday and Saturday at Kettle Moraine and Brookfield Central high schools.

FVL finished 3-2 in two rounds of pool play, defeating Whitefish Bay Dominican and Wauwatosa East 2-0, and Holmen 2-1, while losing to Eau Claire Memorial and Oak Creek 2-0.

In bracket play Saturday, the Foxes won a rematch over Eau Claire Memorial 25-16, 30-28, and beat Holmen again 25-18, 25-12, to earn a rematch with Oak Creek in the championship match, but lost to them again, 25-22, 25-13.

Annalise Patchett had 56 kills and 43 digs, Emma Nilson added 46 kills, 12 blocks and 14 digs, and Brianna Stewart had 19 kills and 17 digs in the Foxes’ eight matches. Setters Ava Patchett and Molly Bixby were on again for FVL as Patchett finished with 75 assists and 41 digs, and Bixby had 79 assists and 29 digs in the tournament.

Fox Valley Lutheran hosts Little Chute for a North Eastern Conference match on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
