Fox Valley Lutheran girls soccer ekes out overtime win over Luxemburg-Casco in WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal

LUXEMBURG – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls soccer team came back from a two-goal deficit to stun Luxemburg-Casco in overtime, winning 3-2 in a WIAA Division 3 regional semifinal Thursday at Luxemburg-Casco High School.

The No. 8 seed Spartans (7-12-2) took a 2-0 lead on goals by Diem Bonness and Kilee Barbiaux before No. 9 Fox Valley Lutheran found a way to get back to even.

Reese Gut scored unassisted and with a minute or so left in regulation Katya Fett tied the game for the Foxes off a free kick.

With just two seconds to go in the first overtime, Eva Ritchie put the Foxes ahead and they were able to finish off the victory.

Olivia Kiecker had 15 saves in goal for FVL.

Fox Valley Lutheran (5-8-4) will play at No. 1 seed Plymouth (18-1-2) in a D-3 regional final on Saturday at 1 p.m.
