Fox Valley Lutheran girls place second, boys finish fourth at home Lutheran Track Invite

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls won seven events to earn a second-place finish at the Lutheran Track & Field Invitational held Friday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
Seven Lutheran high schools from across the state competed, with the Lakeside Lutheran boys and Kettle Moraine Lutheran girls taking the team titles.
The FVL girls placed second and the boys took fourth.
The Fox Valley Lutheran girls won three relays and four individual titles.
The Foxes’ 400 relay team of Cailyn Groth, Annalise Patchett, Amethyst Holmes and Sophia Wunderlich won in 50.89 seconds; the 800 team of Wunderlich, Cailyn Groth, Patchett and Mya Burleton was first in 1:46.76; and the 3,200 relay team of Kristin Donart, Madeline Zuelsdorf, Carys Wendland and Claire Fischer won in 10:03.78.
Emma Nilson won both the girls shot put (39 feet, 10 inches) and the discus (123-0), Wunderlich took first in the 100-meter hurdles (16.37) and Mya Burleton was first in the 100 meters (13.29) for FVL.
The Fox Valley Lutheran boys had one win, coming from Jacob Dobberstein in the 300 hurdles in 42.93 seconds.
Fox Valley Lutheran will be back in action next Friday, May 10, at the North Eastern Conference Meet at Luxemburg-Casco.
