Fox Valley Lutheran girls basketball knocks off first-place Marinette

APPLETON – The Fox Valley Lutheran girls basketball team picked up its biggest win of the season thus far as it knocked off first-place Marinette 56-52 in a North Eastern Conference game Friday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The Foxes took a five-point lead into halftime and was able to hold on at the end to even their NEC record at 5-5 and improve to 5-8 overall.
Lauren Movrich scored 14 points on the strength of four 3-pointers, and Kayla immel had three longballs and finished with 12 points for FVL. Eden Last scored all 10 of her points at the free throw line on 12 attempts to help secure the victory.
Marinette (12-4) drops into a first-place tie atop the NEC standings at 8-2 along with Freedom.
Fox Valley Lutheran plays at Oconto Falls on Tuesday and at home against Clintonville on Thursday for a pair of North Eastern Conference games this week.
