Fox Valley Lutheran football jumps on Denmark early, rolls to NEC win

APPLETON – Fox Valley Lutheran scored a pair of defensive touchdowns in the first half as it opened up a big lead and rolled to a 35-7 victory over Denmark in a North Eastern Conference football game Friday night at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
David Schumacher returned a fumble 80 yards for a score and Elijah Last picked off a pass and raced 29 yards for another touchdown as the Foxes cruised out to a 35-0 lead by the half.
Jack Egan, who ran for 105 yards, scored twice and Liam Heiges hit Lucas Papendorf for a 70-yard touchdown to put FVL up by five touchdowns at the break.
Neither team scored until Denmark put up a late touchdown in the fourth quarter.
Fox Valley Lutheran is now 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the NEC, while Denmark drops to 1-4 and 0-3 in conference play.
The Foxes return to action Thursday with a North Eastern Conference matchup at Wrightstown (4-1, 2-1 NEC) at 7 p.m.
