Fox Valley Lutheran baseball sweeps doubleheader over Freedom

FREEDOM – The Fox Valley Lutheran baseball won a pair of tight games, sweeping a doubleheader over Freedom 4-0 and 2-1 in North Eastern Conference action Tuesday at VFW Park.

Jack Schlueter struck out 10, walked two and allowed just one hit in a complete-game shutout in Game 1 for the Foxes.

Conor Tetting had a triple and drove in two, and Luke Heimerl and Mason Stark each had two hits in the win for FVL.

In Game 2, Fox Valley Lutheran scored both of its runs in the bottom of the fifth inning on RBI by Stark and Wyatt Schlueter, and Luke Heimerl did the rest, giving up nothing over the final 3 2/3 innings with seven strikeouts.

Fox Valley Lutheran is now 4-3 overall and 4-2 in the North Eastern Conference.

Fox Valley Lutheran will host Winnebago Lutheran at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.   4-3, 4-2; 4-6, 2-4
