Fox Valley Lutheran baseball shuts out Freedom

FREEDOM – Fox Valley Lutheran pitcher James Heimerl fired a two-hit shutout as the Foxes blanked Freedom 3-0 in a North Eastern Conference baseball game Friday at VFW Field.

Heimerl struck out five and walked two, giving up just the two hits as the Foxes improve to 9-7 overall and 8-3 in the NEC with their fifth-straight victory.

Lincoln Thede had an RBI double in the third inning and a sacrifice fly to knock in another in the fourth to propel FVL to the win.

The two teams will play again Monday at Fox Valley Lutheran starting at 4:30 p.m.
