Fox Valley Lutheran baseball pulls away late to defeat Clintonville

APPLETON – Alex Tornio tossed a complete-game one-hitter, and added two hits and an RBI as the Fox Valley Lutheran baseball team defeated Clintonville 9-2 on Thursday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The Foxes blew open a tight game by scoring eight times in the fourth through sixth innings, including a four-run sixth to pushed their lead to 9-1.
Tornio struck out seven and walked four, giving up just one single, to earn the pitching victory.
Dawson Burrington had two hits and scored three times, and Lincoln Thede and Brady Nilson both had two hits and an RBI for FVL (2-1 overall and NEC). Mac Kramer added a hit and two RBI for the Foxes.
Fox Valley Lutheran will host a NEC doubleheader against Little Chute on Saturday beginning at 11 a.m.
