Fox Valley Lutheran baseball drops two at Wisconsin Lutheran Quad

MILWAUKEE – The Fox Valley Lutheran baseball team dropped a pair of games at the Wisconsin Lutheran Quad on Saturday, falling to Kettle Moraine Lutheran 1-0 and Lakeside Lutheran 8-3 at Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Mac Kramer went the distance in the opener for the Foxes, allowing just five hits and one run, that coming in the fifth inning.

FVL was held to three hits and couldn’t scratch a run across against Kettle Moraine Lutheran pitcher Reed Ratay, who struck out six in the complete-game shutout.

Alex Tornio hit a two-run home run in the top of the first inning for the Foxes against Lakeside Lutheran, but the Warriors quickly fought back to take a 5-2 lead after three and held on from there.

Luke Heimerl had two hits for the Foxes, who drop to 13-12 this season.

Fox Valley Lutheran will finish its regular-season schedule at home against St. Mary Catholic on Monday at 4 p.m. The Foxes will open postseason play with a WIAA Division 2 regional semifinal at home against Marinette on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
