Fox Cities Stars girls hockey drops road game at Chippewa Falls/Menomonie

MENOMONIE – The Fox Cities Stars girls hockey team dropped a 3-2 decision to Chippewa Falls/Menomonie in a nonconference game Saturday at the Dunn County Ice Arena.

Ella Merritt scored for the Stars late in the second period to cut Chippewa Falls/Menomonie’s lead in half, only to see the Sabers add to it again midway through the third.

Evie Mursau scored with 19 seconds left for Fox Cities (10-8) to provide the final margin.

Addison Grasse had 22 saves in goal for the Stars.

The Stars will travel to River Hills to play University School of Milwaukee for an Eastern Shores Conference game Tuesday at 7:15 p.m.
