Fox Cities Stars girls hockey drops conference game at Fond du Lac

FOND DU LAC – Allison Waara netted a hat trick as Fond du Lac downed the Fox Cities Stars 5-1 in an Eastern Shores Conference girls hockey game Saturday afternoon at the Blueline Center.
Lyla Cooke scored the Stars’ lone goal early in the second period, tying the game at 1-1, but Fox Cities couldn’t push anything else past Fond du Lac goalies Emma Jillig and Lauren Grass, who combined for 18 saves.
Teagan Wilkins had nine saves in goal for Fox Cities, which drops to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in Eastern Shores play.
The Stars return to action next Saturday, Dec. 9, at home against the Madison Metro Lynx. Game time at Tri-County Ice Arena in Neenah is 7 p.m.
