Fox Cities Stars girls hockey comes from behind to defeat Fond du Lac, finishes 2-1 at Eau Claire Tournament

EAU CLAIRE – The Fox Cities Stars girls hockey team wrapped up play at the Eau Claire Tournament with a 5-3 win over Fond du Lac on Thursday at the Hobbs Ice Arena.
Fox Cities, which lost to Hayward 4-3 and defeated Chippewa Falls/McDonell 8-1 on Wednesday, finish the tournament with a 2-1 record.
Following a scoreless first period, Evie Mursau and Margaet Thomas scored in the second as the two teams skated into the third period tied at 2-2.
After Fond du Lac took the lead, the Stars (6-6) ripped off three unanswered goals to earn the win. Thomas scored twice to finish off a hat trick and Peyton Hewitt added a goal in the final period for Fox Cities.
The Stars will host Hudson for a nonconference game at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Tri-County Ice Arena in Neenah.
