Fox Cities Stars girls hockey blanks St. Croix Valley

BALDWIN – Makenna Otto stopped all 26 shots she saw in goal and the Fox Cities Stars girls hockey team shut out St. Croix Valley 3-0 in a nonconference matchup Friday.
Maleiyah Streck broke a scoreless tie with a goal late in the second period and Evie Mursau added another two minutes later to put the Stars up 2-0.
Margaret Thomas scored late in the third to finish off the win for the Stars, which is their third in a row.
The Stars finish their regular season with a 13-10 record and open WIAA postseason play next Friday with a game at Cedarburg against the Lakeshore Lightning.
