Fox Cities Stars boys hockey drops conference road game at Waupun

WAUPUN – Mason Holz had a hat trick to lead Waupun to a 7-2 win over the Fox Cities Stars in a Badgerland Conference boys hockey game Tuesday at the Waupun Ice Arena.
Holz scored twice in the opening period, and after a goal by the Stars’ Cale Adamovich, Waupun scored two more to take a commanding lead and finished off the win with a three-goal third period.
Ryan Ostermann, off an assist from Adamovich, had the Stars’ final goal.
Fox Cities drops to 6-10 this season and 1-5 in the Badgerland, while Waupun climbs above .500 at 8-7-2 overall and is 3-3 in the conference.
Fox Cities’ next game is at Mequon Homestead on Sunday. The Badgerland Conference Tournament will be held next week with games on Jan. 30, and Feb. 2-3.
