Fond du Lac uses long ball to slip past Appleton North girls basketball

FOND DU LAC – Fond du Lac drained 10 3-pointers and held off Appleton North 63-60 in a Fox Valley Association girls basketball game Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School.
The Cardinals (5-8, 3-4 FVA) outscored Appleton North (5-6, 2-5 FVA) 40-35 in the second half to snag the victory.
Avery Werfal had 23 points, and Tay Maass finished with 17 points and 14 rebounds for the Lightning.
Anna Ciha had 17 points, and Allie Buelow nailed four of the Cardinals’ 10 3-pointers to end up with 13 points in the win.
Appleton North plays at Kaukauna on Friday.
