Fond du Lac shuts out Appleton West softball

FOND DU LAC – The Appleton West softball team was held without a hit and lost to Fond du Lac 15-0 in a game shortened to three innings due to the 15-run rule on Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School.

McKenna Thome struck out six and walked two to toss the short no-hitter for Fond du Lac (3-7, 2-7 FVA).

Madison Buchinger took the loss for Appleton West, which remains winless in seven games this spring.

Susan Vokes had four RBI and Reghan Ziegler finished with three RBI for the Cardinals.

Appleton West will be back in action against Oshkosh West on Thursday at home at the Nienhaus Sports Complex beginning at 5 p.m.
