Fond du Lac blanks Appleton North softball

FOND DU LAC – Fond du Lac pitcher Susan Vokes spun a three-hit shutout as the Cardinals defeated Appleton North 3-0 in a Fox Valley Association softball game Tuesday at Fond du Lac High School.

Vokes finished with seven strikeouts and just one walk, keeping Appleton North (4-9, 3-8 FVA) off the scoreboard. She also had two hits and an RBI at the plate for the Cardinasl (9-7, 4-7 FVA).

Sophia Wald suffered the loss for the Lightning, giving up four runs in two innings with three strikeouts.

Appleton North returns to action Thursday with a home game against Oshkosh West.
