Five Fox Valley Lutheran players snag seven spots on 2023 All-North Eastern Conference Football Team

Fox Valley Lutheran seniors Jack Egan and Liam Heiges were two-way first-team selections on the 2023 All-North Eastern Conference Football Team, which was voted on by the conference coaches following the season.

Fox Valley Lutheran, which finished 7-4 overall and in a tie for second in the NEC at 5-2 this season, had five players named first-team all-conference.

Egan was a first-team pick at running back and as a utility player on defense, while Heiges was named to the first team as an outside linebacker on defense and as a utility player on offense.

Egan topped the Foxes with 845 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns, and in total tackles with 97 and tackles for loss with 12.

Heiges, FVL’s quarterback and outside linebacker, ran for 779 yards and 10 touchdowns and had 1,719 passing yards and 19 TDs. He also finished with 77 tackles.

Senior offensive lineman Noah Nelson, junior wide receiver David Schumacher and senior defensive back Gabe Krueger were also first-team picks for the Foxes, with Schumacher and Krueger earning unanimous honors.

Schumacher caught 30 passes for 405 yards and four touchdowns, and Krueger finished the season with 58 tackles, including four for loss.
