Dominant first half leads unbeaten Kimberly past Appleton North girls basketball

KIMBERLY – Undefeated Kimberly took control from the opening tip, cruising out to a 34-point halftime lead and eventually a 79-50 win over Appleton North in a Fox Valley Association girls basketball game Friday at Kimberly High School.
The Papermakers took a commanding 53-19 lead by halftime and went on to win their ninth game in a row to start the season (9-0, 6-0 FVA).
Haylie Dulas was 8-for-8 at the free throw line and finished with a team-high 19 points for Kimberly.
Avery Werfal finished with 24 points and Tay Maass chipped in 10 for Appleton North (5-5, 2-4 FVA).
Appleton North travels to Fond du Lac on Tuesday.
