Chippewa Falls outlasts Appleton West in WIAA Division 1 girls basketball regional quarterfinal

CHIPPEWA FALLS – The Appleton West girls basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 59-43 loss to Chippewa Falls in a WIAA Division 1 regional quarterfinal Tuesday night at Chippewa Falls High School.
The No. 17-seeded Terrors hung in the game early, trailing 27-24 at halftime, before No. 16 seed Chippewa Falls was able to pull away, holding West to just 19 points in the second half.
Sarah Chaffee had a game-high 24 points and Addy Seaholm finished with 15 for Chippewa Falls, which moves on to a Division 1 regional semifinal at No. 1 seed Hortonville (19-5) on Friday.
Addyson Knoebel scored 14 points and Jazelle Gowdy added 11 for Appleton West (2-23).
