Bromm’s bases-loaded double gives Fox Valley Lutheran softball walk-off win over Oconto Falls

APPLETON – Natalie Bromm had a bases-clearing double with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning to give the Fox Valley Lutheran softball team a 3-2 win over Oconto Falls in a North Eastern Conference game Monday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

Oconto Falls led 2-0 through 6½ innings as pitcher Randi Metzler limited the Foxes to just one hit to that point.

With one out, Claire Pfrang singled, Brooklyn Blob reached on an error and Alaina Krueger followed with an infield single to load the bases. After Pfrang was forced out at home after a groundball, Bromm smacked the double to left field, sending home all three runners for the Foxes in the walk-off victory.

FVL pitcher Madison Babcock and Metzler for Oconto Falls both finished with 11 strikeouts and no walks in a well-pitched duel.

Pfrang had two of FVL’s four hits.

Fox Valley Lutheran (13-6, 8-6 NEC) pulls into a tie for fourth place in the conference with Oconto Falls (9-8, 8-6 NEC) with four games remaining.

The Foxes are back at home Tuesday for another NEC game against Denmark starting at 4:30 p.m.
