Big second half pushes Kimberly past Appleton West boys basketball

KIMBERLY – Kimberly blew open a tight game with a big second half and defeated Appleton West 80-53 in a Fox Valley Association boys basketball game Friday night at Kimberly High School.

Appleton West hung close in the first half as it trailed 34-29, but the Papermakers (7-9, 5-7 FVA) hung 46 points on the board after intermission to run away with the victory.

Alex Krause had 18 points to lead Kimberly.

Braylon Ise finished with 16 points, Parrion Peace added 14 and Lucas Downs 12 for the Terrors (1-14, 0-12 FVA).

Appleton West will travel to Fond du Lac for an FVA game Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
