Beaver Dam sweeps doubleheader over Appleton East baseball

BEAVER DAM – Beaver Dam pounded out 25 hits and Eli Bryant smacked four home runs as the Golden Beavers swept a nonconference baseball doubleheader over Appleton East on Saturday at Beaver Dam High School.

Beaver Dam (3-2) won 12-6 and 13-1 behind Bryant, who went a combined 6-for-6 in the twinbill with a home run and five RBI in Game 1, and three homers and six batted in the nightcap.

Rylan Winkler had a double and two RBI in the opening game for Appleton East. The Patriots were held to just two hits in the second game.

Appleton East (0-4) returns to Fox Valley Association action Monday at home against Oshkosh West. Game time is 4:30 p.m.
