Ashwaubenon earns walk-off win over Appleton West baseball

ASHWAUBENON – Ian Aoki had a two-out walk-off RBI single to lead Ashwaubenon to a 5-4 win over Appleton West in a nonconference baseball Friday at Ashwaubomay Memorial Park.
Loren Georger had a solo home run in the sixth inning to give Appleton West a 3-2 lead before the Jaguars (11-10) went ahead in the bottom of the inning on Eason Hurd’s two-run single.
West (6-15) responded in the top of the seventh as Dimitry Edmunds had an RBI double to plate Braylon Will with the tying run, only to see Ashwaubenon walk it off in the bottom of the frame.
Michael Gwiazdon was the tough-luck losing pitcher for the Terrors as he finished with nine strikeouts and three walks over 6 2/3 innings.
Edmunds had two doubles and two RBI, and Dexter Gerard also had two hits and an RBI for Appleton West.
The Terrors will play their home finale against Fond du Lac on Tuesday at Nienhaus Sports Complex.
