Appleton West wrestling earns three top-four finishes at D.C. Everest Invite

WESTON – Appleton West had three top-four finishes and placed ninth at the 15-team Fred Lehrke Wrestling Invitational on Saturday at D.C. Everest High School.
Ben Hilbert won his first two matches at 138 pounds before losing in the championship match to Devon Lietzau of Sparta by pin in 3:00 to take second for the Terrors.
Abdelrahman Zeineldin placed third at 165, winning a 15-9 decision over Teddy Meyer of Spencer/Columbus Catholic/Granton in the third-place match, and Lucas Collar finished fourth at 144 pounds for Appleton West.
Weyauwega-Fremont won the team title with 661 points. Stratford was second with 557 and Appleton West ninth with 258.
Appleton West will wrestle at Appleton East on Tuesday in a Fox Valley Association dual starting at 6 p.m.
