Appleton West splits pair of matches at Appleton North Girls Tennis Invite

APPLETON – The Appleton West girls tennis team split a pair of matches at the Appleton North Invitational on Monday at North High School.

Appleton West defeated Manitowoc Roncalli 6-1 and lost to Union Grove 6-1.

The Terrors swept the four singles matches in the victory over Roncalli, including straight-set wins from Addison Steward, Kami Beyersdorf and Ella Reetz.

The No. 2 doubles team of Emma Schuchart and Kayda Aeby, and the No. 3 team of Hailey Jacobson and Madison Buchinger also won in straight sets for Appleton West.

Reetz had the Terrors’ lone win against Union Grove, winning in a three-set tiebreaker at No. 3 singles.

Appleton North and Appleton East results were not provided.

Appleton West opens its Fox Valley Association dual meet season Tuesday at home against Hortonville at 4 p.m. Appleton North will begin its FVA season Thursday at home against Oshkosh West.
