Appleton West/Kimberly girls swimming wins FVA dual over Oshkosh North/Lourdes

OSHKOSH – Appleton West/Kimberly won seven of the 12 events and used its depth advantage to defeat Oshkosh North/Lourdes 117-68 in a Fox Valley Association girls swimming dual on Tuesday at Oshkosh West High School.

Colleen DeBruin won two individual events and was part of two winning relay teams to lead West/Kimberly.

DeBruin won the 100-yard freestyle in 56.52 seconds and the 100 backstroke in 1:13.90, teamed with Sophia Roehrborn, Gaby Dilley and Elise Pasholk to win the 200 medley relay in 1:58.02, and was part of the winning 400 freestyle relay team, along with Brooklyn VanGompel, Bryn Hansen and Pasholk (3:58.88).

VanGompel also won the 200 freestyle (2:14.31), Dilley was first in the 100 breaststroke (1:13.90), and the 200 freestyle relay team of Dilley, Grace Dollevoet, VanGompel and Hailey Christenson) won in 1:59.24 as well for West/Kimberly.

Appleton West/Kimberly will host the Terror Relays on Friday at West High School starting at 5 p.m.
