Appleton West girls tennis rolls past Hortonville in FVA opener

APPLETON – The Appleton West girls tennis team rolled to a 6-1 win over Hortonville in its Fox Valley Association dual meet opener Tuesday at West High School.

The Terrors won five of the seven matches in straight sets, which included a 6-0, 6-0 sweep by Ella Reetz at No. 3 singles.

West’s No. 3 doubles team of Hailey Jacobson and Madison Buchinger earned a comeback win 3-6, 6-2, 10-5, in a tiebreaker over Chelsea Jungwirth and Breann Engel.

Appleton West will host Appleton East on Thursday beginning at 4 p.m.
