Appleton West girls soccer blanks Wisconsin Rapids

APPLETON – Addyson Knoebel scored on a penalty kick early in the second half for the game’s only goal as the Appleton West girls soccer team downed Wisconsin Rapids 1-0 in a nonconference game Friday at West High School.
Knoebel’s goal came in the 13th minute of the second half and neither team was able to muster anything else the rest of the way.
Kayda Aeby had five saves in goal for the Terrors, who improve to 4-3-1 this season. Wisconsin Rapids drops to 2-4-1.
Appleton West will be off until Thursday when it hosts Appleton East for a Fox Valley Association match starting at 7 p.m.
