Appleton West girls cross country finishes second at New London Bulldog Invite

NEW LONDON – The Appleton West girls had two runners finish in the top four and placed second in the team standings at the New London Bulldog Cross Country Invitational on Saturday at Hatten Park.

Seniors Morgan Breed placed third in 20:27.1 and Roseanna Dane was fourth in 20:34.0 for the Terrors, who finished with 80 team points to place second behind team champion Hortonville (34).

Mariah Wondra of Bonduel won the girls race in 19:33.8.

Elizabeth Clark added a top-20 finish for the Terrors, taking 19th in 22:30.3.

Ashwaubenon won the boys team title with 18 points as the Jaguars secured the first four places. Ryan Jadin won the race in 17:11.1, six seconds in front of teammate Carter Thompson.

Kegan Phalin finished sixth for Appleton West in 17:33.8 as the Terrors placed eighth. Maxwel Hein also finished 25th in 18:43.1 for the Terrors.

Appleton West will return to action Thursday at the Mishicot Invitational.
