Appleton West girls basketball slips past Stevens Point to improve to 2-0

APPLETON – The Appleton West girls basketball team won its second-straight game to start the season, holding off Stevens Point 50-48 in a nonconference matchup Monday night at West High School.

Appleton West led 25-18 at halftime and were able to halt the Panthers’ second-half run to improve to 2-0 this season.

Jazelle Gowdy had 15 points, Addyson Knoebel added 14 and Madelyn Nushart 10 for the Terrors.

Appleton West returns to action Tuesday, Nov. 28, with its Fox Valley Association opener at Oshkosh North. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
