Appleton West boys soccer doubles up Fox Valley Lutheran

APPLETON – The Appleton West boys soccer team won its third game in four days, doubling up Fox Valley Lutheran 4-2 in a nonconference matchup Monday at Fox Valley Lutheran High School.

Michael Wilondja netted a goal in the first half before the Terrors pulled away over the final 40 minutes on a pair of goals from Lincoln Vang and another score by Sammy Solis.

Ken Xiong had four saves in goal for the Terrors (9-6-3).

Goal scorers for Fox Valley Lutheran (9-8-1) were not reported.

Fox Valley Lutheran will wrap up its North Eastern Conference and regular season Tuesday at Freedom.

Appleton West’s last game of the regular season will be at home at the Nienhaus Sports Complex against Xavier on Thursday.

Both teams will open postseason play next week. Appleton West will play a WIAA Division 1 regional semifinal at Hortonville on Tuesday, Oct. 22. FVL will host Winneconne for a Division 3 regional semifinal on Thursday, Oct. 24.
