Appleton West boys golf snags FVA win over Fond du Lac via tiebreaker

NEENAH – The Appleton West boys golf team won a tiebreaker with the best fifth-player score to notch a win over Fond du Lac in a Fox Valley Association dual meet Tuesday at Winagamie Golf Course.
The teams tied 158-158, with West grabbing the win with a fifth-player score of 44 compared to Fond du Lac’s 47.
Fond du Lac’s Will Mauthe was meet medalist with a 3-under par 33, three shots ahead of Appleton West’s Collin Evers 36.
Prestyn Evers added a 39, Thomas Wendt shot a 41, Graham Goldschmidt had a 42 and Austin Arizola had a 44 as well for the Terrors, who move into a tie with Hortonville for second place in the FVA standings at 6-2.
Appleton West will wrap up its FVA dual meet schedule Friday at Kaukauna at Countryside Golf Course starting at 2:45 p.m.
