Appleton West baseball drops season-opener at Ashwaubenon

ASHWAUBENON – The Appleton West baseball team was held to three hits and lost its season-opener to Ashwaubenon 8-2 in a nonconference contest Monday at Capital Credit Union Park.
The Terrors led 2-1 after an RBI single by Loren Georger in the top of the third inning.
Ashwaubenon (1-1) responded with four runs in the bottom of the frame and tacked on three more in the fifth to pull away.
Georger had two of Appleton West’s three hits.
The Terrors will open its Fox Valley Association season at Oshkosh North on Thursday.
