Appleton West baseball drops road game at Hortonville

HORTONVILLE – Two Hortonville pitchers held Appleton West to four hits and the Polar Bears went on to a 10-1 win in a Fox Valley Association baseball game at Commercial Club Park on Tuesday.
Taiven Gass struck out eight in five innings to earn the win and Kael Konrad finished off the victory for Hortonville.
Appleton West scored its only run in the first inning when Ryder Hoffman singled and later scored on an error.
Hortonville scored twice in the third and blew the game open with a seven-run fourth.
Rece Much drove in three for the Polar Bears (3-1, 2-0 Fox Valley Association).
Hoffman had two of West’s four hits.
Appleton West (1-1 overall and FVA) plays at Kaukauna on Thursday.
