Appleton West, Appleton North earn team spots, East’s Feller, FVL’s Woosley individual sectional berths at WIAA Division 1 girls golf regional

NEENAH – The Appleton West and Appleton North teams, Appleton East senior Jaelyn Feller and Fox Valley Lutheran senior CJ Woosley will be moving on to sectionals after solid rounds at a WIAA Division 1 Girls Golf Regional on Tuesday at Winagamie Golf Course.

Kaukauna won the team title with a 337, with Hortonville second with a 359, Appleton West third with a 376 and Appleton North fourth with a 380 to all qualify for a D-1 sectional on Tuesday, Oct. 8, at Thornberry Creek Golf Course in Green Bay.

Feller will also be moving on to the sectional for the fourth-straight year as she finished in a tie for fourth with an 82, just one shot off the Kaukauna trio of Grace Schomin, Charlie Clinefelter and McKenna Lowe, who all shot 81.

The top individuals not on the four qualifying teams also earn sectional berths. Neenah’s Annika Searles (82), West De Pere’s Reece Osowski (92) and Woosley (94) picked up the other three individual sectional spots.

Appleton West’s Addie Edmunds and Appleton North’s Taylor LeMire finished in a three-way tie for sixth with 87s to lead their respective teams.

Chloe Didreckson added a 93 and Lydia Barry shot 95 for Appleton West.

Emily Brokl and Bella Bauman each had 96s as well for Appleton North.

Appleton East finished seventh and FVL eighth among the nine teams at the tournament.

The top two teams and top three individuals not on those teams at the sectional will qualify for the 2024 WIAA State Girls Golf Tournament at University Ridge Golf Course in Madison, which will be held Oct. 14-15.
