Appleton United boys hockey drops opener at Mosinee

MOSINEE – The Appleton United boys hockey team was shut out in the first two periods and dropped a 9-2 decision to Mosinee in a nonconference matchup to open its 2023-24 season on Tuesday night at the Mosinee City Recreation Center.
Kenny Kapheim and Ben Tomassetti scored Appleton’s two goals in the loss.
Brandon Tobak made 48 saves in goal for Appleton, which was outshot 57-21.
Appleton United will play at Fond du Lac next Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
